Homes for sale in Almaden can be found regularly as it’s a large neighborhood.  However, looking for a home is filled with challenge, discovery, choice, and a financial investment.  In California and Silicon Valley this is even more challenging due to the high cost of homes.  One neighborhood in San Jose, called Almaden Valley, is ideal for growing families.  This is an area of a few hundred thousand homes, most of which were built in the 1960s and 1970s.  The area is well suited to middle and upper-middle class living.  Many of the homes are ranch style, single story and considered Executive homes.  There are select condominiums and apartments on some of the outskirts of the area.  You’ll also find a golf course, multiple neighborhood swimming areas, and first class schools.  One of the primary benefits is the surroundings as the area is completely surrounded by small hills on two sides and a large mountain range on one side.  This makes for beautiful surroundings but also gives the area a very community-oriented feeling.

Homes prices in the area vary greatly but most are at least in the very high 6 figures, and it’s not uncommon to find homes in the $1-1.5 million range.  You’ll also find that selected properties are bought for the purposes of a rebuild.  This is true in the older neighborhoods in the flat sections of town moreso than in the newer areas of Almaden high up on the hillsides.  It’s there you’ll find true mansion-style living and homes of 4,000-5,000 square feet.

Living in this area also puts people close to downtown San Jose, only 8 miles by freeway.  The freeway can be accessed by 2 primary roads – Almaden Expressway and Camden Road.  So this gives both a feeling of connection to the community, convenient travel to workplaces and downtown entertainment, and also the experience of being in an exclusive and secure neighborhood.
